A Statement Of My Beliefs

I BELIEVE in the heavenly Father; His Son, Jesus; and the Holy Spirit, who lived in perfect love, unity, and harmony in a forever past outside of time. Although they didn’t need anyone else, they chose to create us to share their love with us.
I BELIEVE the Father directed Jesus to create the entire universe and a beautiful, finely tuned planet filled with boundless creatures and wonders to be our home. Knowing we would break the relationship through disobedience, the Father prepared a plan to reconcile us. At the perfect time, God would send Jesus to earth to pay the ultimate ransom to free us from our guilt and offer us a glorious future with them.

I BELIEVE the Bible is divinely inspired, inerrant, unchanging truth, and the utterly unique Good News it proclaims is too good not to be true. I don’t believe humans could come up with such an unthinkable, stunningly illogical story.
We couldn’t imagine a high, majestic God would love us so much He’d let us treat his beloved Son cruelly. We couldn’t imagine an omnipotent Son willing to submit to and endure unimaginable pain for our sakes. We couldn’t imagine the holy, holy, holy Spirit of God wanting to live in us.
I BELIEVE Jesus conquered the grave, so we could live forever. That God offers to adopt us into His family just as we are if we understand and believe the unimaginable, recognize we don’t have a prayer without Him, and give Him our hearts and lives. Then through Jesus’ life-giving, life-changing blood, He sees us as holy and blameless.

I BELIEVE God loves each of His adopted children more in a moment than anyone else could in a lifetime, and He’ll love us eternally. As He delights in us, we glorify Him by enjoying Him, and try to live in a way that pleases Him and honors His name. And His Word shows us how, and His Spirit helps us to.
